Laura Duffy

b. 1994

Laura Duffy is an artist and curator based in Te Whanganui-A-Tara, Aotearoa. In 2015 she graduated from Whiti O Rehua, Massey University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. They were apart of JPEG2000 collective, 2015-2018. From 2017-2019 they were a facilitator at artist-run-initiative MEANWHILE. Duffy’s visual practise works with experimental video. She is interested in exploring pleasure or joy derived from failure, error and disgust. Employing digital film, low-fi animation, text, and synthetic or organic materials to explore porous boundaries between binary concepts. Duffy’s multimedia visual practise is interested in queer desire.
