Colour Bars (2008)

6 min 59 secSingle channel / Digital Video / Colour / Silent

Eight descending drips of paint slowly fill the screen. Each is differently coloured, and over the length of the video comes to fill an individual vertical field. Placed alongside each other, the columns of paint resemble SMPTE colour bars, a standard measure for setting a television monitor to reproduce correct chrominance and luminance information.
