Self-Saucing is a short performance for video artwork recorded in High Definition and intended to be presented on a large scale using projection or screen.
The work is filmed from a fixed angle behind the brightly lit pink rear of Morris Minor that recedes into darkness. A faceless person proceeds to rigorously buff the rear of the car until milk falls from the darkness above cascading slowly down the smooth surface.
The work is intended as a study of autoeroticism and the techno-eroticism of High definition video. Inspired by themes of Science and Horror Fiction, where the seductive nature of technology serves to simultaneously obscure and reveal certain negative aspects of the human condition.
Directed, shot, and performed by Johnathon Titheridge
