Steel and sting (2017)

4 min 35 secSingle channel / Digital Video / Colour / Sound

"Steel and Sting began as a love poem considering trust, or the lack thereof. The violent stock videos dispersed throughout the artists home footage consider a contemporary mentality. An attempt at positive thought permeated and disrupted by the presence of the internet becoming sharp, cynical, and toxic.

I make to empower, to rebuild lost faith and to offer support. Steel and Sting (2017) is alternative to my often 'warm-hearted' approach. Distracting from or deflecting 'bad' is near impossible now. There is a new acidity in the air, I am honest because there is no hiding (from) it."
