With over 40 years of artist moving image production in New Zealand, what is the current state of local practice, and how do we create a dynamic and sustainable future?

The inaugural CIRCUIT symposium Looking Back into the Future is a three day celebration of artist moving image practice. With screenings, discussion and an artists' workshop addressing issues of production, networks and value, the event takes place at three venues in Auckland, August 29-31. Featuring three international speakers and local representatives from the curatorial, artist and gallerist community, this promises to be the unmissable event in CIRCUIT's calendar for 2013.

Day 1 Thursday August 29: All Divided Selves (feature film screening) 8pm, Academy Cinema 

Day 2 Friday August 30: Looking Back into the Future (talks/screenings) 10am-6pm, Elam School of Fine Arts

Day 3 Saturday August 31: The Auratic Film (Artists' workshop) 10am-1pm, The Audio Foundation

Presented by CIRCUIT Artist Film and Video Aotearoa New Zealand in association with Elam School of Fine Arts, National Institute of Creative Arts and Industries (NICAI), The University of Auckland. With the support of The British Council, Creative New Zealand and The Audio Foundation.
