Coffin (2011)

11 min 7 secSingle channel / Digital Video / Colour / Sound

In this performance I was suggesting what is more likely to evoke the metaphoric sense of action in its full movement, as how the body exists as a pure form of energy through the ongoing nature of becoming, in terms of positing the binary relationship between life (my physical activity around the coffin) and death (the coffin itself as mysterious object). My attitude toward the deathly object was not only physically vivid at present but also being silent as contemplating on both my own bodily existence and its possible sublime. The whole action of performance demonstrated the idea that ‘we are living in an illusive dream’.
