WEBSITE: After 18 months of asking artists to self-describe their work, we now have 60 searchable search terms which offer broad groupings of works onsite. The aim is to provide a useful basis for curatorial research. More detail can be found in the synopses. We have also recently added a wealth of installation shots, to convey the site, scale and mixed media contexts which often activate these works. This work by Sandy Gibbs is an example. As always we welcome any feedback about the site and how it works. CURATORIAL: Jim Allen's News is an exhibtion now at RAMP Gallery, Hamilton, curated by CIRCUIT Director Mark Williams as part of a recent research fellowship at Wintec. Featuring video, photography and text, the installation includes three new works performed to camera by Mark Harvey, all of which respond to Jim Allen's 1976 performance piece News. The installation continues Allen's critical response to issues surrounding performance and documentation. Don't miss Jim performing another 1976 work, On Planting a Native, at Michael Lett Gallery, 6pm Wednesday 19 November. STAFF: Annie MacKenzie recently completed her internship at CIRCUIT, our thanks to Annie for her work on the installation shots and tags. Wellington-based performance artist Callum Devlin is our technical intern and over the past few months has provided invaluable back-of-house support, including editing the recent podcast interview with Adnan Yildiz.
