"Filmed at the Rangipo Desert (the base of Mt Ruapehu) the artist walks, runs and dances along the border of the military training ground. In a non-violent battle, vogue dancing acts as a new language to try to disrupt the use of the landscape and engage with it in a way that transforms. Inspired by the writings of Zac Blas' text Gay Bombs (2016), the artist performs as a solider in an attempt to mis-use technology originally created for military purposes. This is a performance of resistance, with the hopes for queerness claiming space in the future."
