Bena Jackson is an artist from Ōtautahi Christchurch/Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, currently based in Paris, France. Usually working in sculpture, her practice focuses on community actions in public spaces and urban environments, and attempts to sharpen our focus on traces of agency, tension, and potential, and how they might inform the future of our cities.
Recent solo exhibitions include: Urban Legend, Te Tuhi, Tāmaki Makaurau, 2024; Here we all are, The Engine Room, Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington, 2023; and Castle Mall, RM, Tāmaki Makaurau, 2023. Jackson holds an MFA from Massey University Whiti o Rehua.
