Janaína Moraes

Janaína Moraes is a Brazilian dance, research, and performance artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau. Interested in relational practices and dance in other contexts, she researches art residencies as manifestation, sustaining and fostering of invitations for hovering in togetherness through the notion of invitation. Founder of the art Gathering Abre Salas (Opens Rooms), she invites and collaborates cross-disciplinarily, cross-culturally, cross-abilities, cross-species, cross-matter in the pursue of poetics of coexistence.

Janaína has performed internationally with works such as NZ: 3R Performative Residency for The Performance Arcade (2022); choreo graphies for Sandrigham’s Performance Town Festival (2021); assistir árvores, walking performance for Experimental Dance Week Aotearoa (2020); Fortune Furnitures & On(e)line Stories for Tempo Dance Festival (2020)
