Keri-Mei Zagrobelna (Te Whānau-a-Apanui and Te Āti Awa) graduated from Whitireia Polytech with a BaPPa in visual arts and design in 2012. Her practice is based in adornment and jewellery as well as public art, and she has exhibited extensively in Aotearoa and abroad. Alongside work in education, in 2023 Zagrobelna completed her first moving image work. Entitled Te Pito, this was installed on Masons Screen over the Matariki period. Te Pito is an extension of the artist’s jewellery practice and a collaboration with performer Jahra Wasasala Rager, digital artist Pikihuia Haenga and sound designer Emily Bernard.
