Serena Bentley is a curator and art writer from Aotearoa based in Melbourne. She is currently Curator at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI). Prior to this, she was Assistant Curator, Contemporary Art, at the National Gallery of Victoria. Serena has worked as Artistic Program Manager at artist development organisation Next Wave and in commercial galleries including: Anna Schwartz Gallery, Melbourne; Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery, Sydney and Starkwhite, Auckland, as well as a Curatorial Assistant at Auckland Art Gallery.
She has also been an Australia Council visual arts peer assessor, the recipient of a travel grant from the Ian Potter Foundation and a curatorial resident at Cemeti Art House in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
In 2019, Serena was CIRCUIT's Curator-at-large. She curated Personal Space, a series of new works for cinema.
