SCHLOCK! HORROR! Death of a B-Movie Empire
Media: Installation of single channel video, related props and models, screen printed t-shirt, single edition action figures.
Synopsis: Made during the Wellywood boom, this project mourned the passing of an era and offered a cynical expose of “movie magic”. The gallery space became a store room for discarded props and unsold movie merchandise, while trailers for these failed horror movies loop like bad memories projected on the back wall. The media release for the show claimed that Bad Taste was the best film Peter Jackson ever made and I genuinely believe this. - MH
