Are you passionate about the moving image and interested in engaging with artists about their work and practice? Do you have excellent communication skills? If so, we invite you to submit a proposal for a CIRCUIT podcast series featuring conversations with Aotearoa artists working in the moving image.

CIRCUIT Cast is one of Aotearoa’s longest running podcasts dedicated to contemporary art, with over 100 episodes streaming on our website and through Soundcloud, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

As the host of your CIRCUIT Cast series you will have the opportunity to speak with emerging and established artists, ask them about their work and creative process, and share their insights with a wider audience. You will work closely with our production team to develop the format and content of the podcast, including selecting guests and preparing interview questions. Each podcast will be pre-recorded by you and edited by CIRCUIT staff for clarity.

To apply, please submit a proposal that includes:

  • A brief bio and statement of interest that highlights your relevant experience and background in artist moving image

  • A proposed format and theme for a podcast series (up to three episodes)

  • A list of potential guests, including brief bios and why you think they would be a good fit for a podcast

  • A sample piece of critical writing or interview (written or spoken) that showcases your ability to engage critically with artist practice

We welcome proposals from practitioners at all stages of their career, from emerging to experienced.

Remuneration

$400 per podcast.

Equipment

The host will need their own computer and Zoom app for online interviews. We will provide all the remaining necessary resources and technical support.

How to apply

Please email your proposal to director@circuit.org.nz by 10am, Tuesday 18 April 2023. Any enquiries can be sent to the same address.
