25 kgs of salt (2016)

17 min 11 secSingle channel / Digital Video / Colour / Sound

"An exploration of my physical relationship to my emotional self. Carrying a body of 25kgs of salt representing my pains, my past, my great loves, my great losses. This work is about confronting and understanding personal burdens and emotional weight in objective performative research. I learnt how I love and hate parts of my identity that I had buried and forgotten...My object became erotic, maternal, an enemy, a lover. All of which I learned were commonly related through their power to emotively control me.”
