ATM DVD shows the splintered screen of a roadside ATM and an animated woman smiling and moving behind it.
As in many of Parkes’ moving image works, the artist captures a fleeting moment, made notable in this case by the patterning of the fractured screen, which appears to both imprison and beautify the woman smiling coyly behind the broken lines.
