Carte Blanche (2011)

1 min 5 sec (excerpt)Single channel / Digital Video / Colour / Sound

"On a backdrop of native NZ forest, a jet plane descends perpetually. At once a symbol for progress and for destruction, this paradox is extended in Carte Blanche. Playing on our modern Armageddon-esque mindset, the viewer is invited to watch and wait for an end that never comes. Suspense suspended. This work was created using an elaborate custom made wire-rope and pulley rig that flew the camera and scale model plane in tandem through the forest."
