"In Standing Wave, the camera accompanies a young man, Dylan, who experienced a phantasmic vision the previous evening whilst cleaning a meat smoker at work. The vision provoked Dylan towards freedom—he immediately walked away from his job and returned to collecting discarded aluminium cans and trading them for money. Set alongside the confluence of two valley carving rivers, the film follows the flow of water in parallel with the flow of Dylan’s living."
