"Office workers are asked to toil without use of their bodies; focusing on knowledge-work, desk-work and to remain sedentary. Here the salary-man performs the extra labour required of one with a body, to exercise it and keep it well. The suit operates a cliché and provides a sort of flattening, which irons out human depth and reduces the wearer to a sort of one- liner—the businessman.
The first in an ongoing series exploring ideas around labour, the body, and behavioural modernity." - Artist Statement
