Laura Duffy

Laura Duffy is a queer artist and curator based in Te Whanganui-A-Tara, Aotearoa. In 2015 she graduated from Whiti O Rehua, Massey University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. From 2017-2019 they were a facilitator at artist run initiative MEANWHILE. They were apart of JPEG2000 collective, 2015-2018. Laura is currently working for Circuit Artist Film and Video Aotearoa. 
Duffy’s visual practise works with experimental video. She is interested in exploring pleasure or joy derived from failure, error and disgust. Employing digital film, low-fi animation, text, and synthetic or organic materials to explore porous boundaries between binary concepts. Recently she has been VJing under the name Hyp-Hae. Duffy’s multimedia visual practise is interested in queer desire.  She has contributed to projects at; MEANWHILE, Play_Station, HOBIENNALE, Enjoy, RM, Toi Poneke, The National Portrait Gallery, The Engine Room, Circuit & FELTSpace.
