Manuha’apai (Manu Vaea) Vaeatangitau (Lapaha, ‘Utulau, Tongatapu) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau whose works often engages with eroticism, critical fabulation and diaristic account to reassert queer Pacific identities into social and cultural contexts. Concerned with fixing the contemporary queer Pacific body to the present, she resists notions of her existing as a relic of pre-colonialism or as the future of gender. Her practice spans illustration, painting, performance, writing and screen.
