Mariam Tawfik

Mariam Tawfik is a multidisciplinary artist and sound designer based in Tāmaki Makaurau, Aotearoa. Her practice explores the intersections of faith, memory, and land.

Working across melismatic soundscapes, immersive video, and wordplay, Tawfik creates contemplative spaces that invite reflection, connection, and hope. Her work forges relationships between the landscapes and languages of Iraq and Aotearoa, while navigating the space between the spiritual and the earthly.
