A Man Without A Factory (2008)

12 min 6 secSingle channel / Digital Video / Colour / Sound

"Drifting around a large mound of dirt at the edge of a property that is not depicted, a young man is earnestly engaged with pointlessly industrious gestures and rummaging, suggesting an active interior life. He arrives at the scene in a determined manner, as if escaping something distressing, and settles in to his temporary studio with an uncertain purpose, silhouetted by the pre-dawn light. The twinkling building lights in the background indicate that society is not far away, but the protagonist is temporarily occupied in the shadows of the world."
