Fleeting and fragmentary observations of the materials used in building the Wellington motorway in 1971, which was constructed near through the Thorndon Gully and the Bolton Street Cemetery. In order for the road to be built, hundreds of houses were demolished and a thousands of human remains moved to a common grave. At the time of the film Joanna Paul was resident in the nearby suburb of Thorndon.
