"Dear Kenny G is an 18x24’ golden letter addressed to the musician Kenny G. At a distance it is a subtle glistening texture of gold patterning; but upon closer inspect it becomes both a personal, earnest and tenderly honest apology to Mr G, as well as a general statement about the need to address and dismantle creative and critical prejudice within artistic culture (and culture in general)."
This video shows the letter exhibited at the Portland Art Museum as part of the Sam Hamilton solo exhibition Standard Candles 25 March–12 August 2017. Voiceover read by Sam Hamilton.
