Tell the bees (2019)

4 channel installation / Digital Video / Colour / Silent

“'Telling the bees' is a traditional custom of many European cultures in which beekeepers will talk with their hives and inform them of important events in their and their communities' lives. The custom functions to acknowledge the bees as integral members of the community. The custom also acknowledges and actively utilitises the bees' agency as a social—psychological extension of the body politic. A means of collectivising the processing of emotional trauma that incorporates nature into ones communal framework. A beautiful example of our pre-enlightenment awareness of our existential entanglement with, and therapeutic reliance on, nature."
