Sorawit Songsataya
Sorawit Songsataya is an artist currently based in Pōneke Wellington. Their work ”often makes practical use of computer softwares and organic material to explore simultaneous relations in materiality and beliefs imbued in diverse cultural milieux. Recent projects expand on various handcraft skills and new media while considering social layers of their home country and Aotearoa.” - Artspace Aotearoa (2018)
In 2018, Songsataya received a Swedish Arts Grant to participate in a studio residency in Stockholm via IASPIS Konstnärsnämnden. They were a McCahon House Artist in residence in 2017 and in 2016, First Prize Winner, New Zealand National Contemporary Art Award.
