Cascade (2008)

3 min 30 secSingle channel / Digital Video / Colour / Sound

"I participated in the process of scientific monitoring and visualisation of bird and mammal species adversely affected by climate change. The installation includes scientific visualisation processes such as satellite telemetry trackline maps, based on patterns of animal migration, as well as shared environmental video online from YouTube. The audio includes bio-sonar navigation signals from arctic marine mammals."

Artist's statement

Video remix of the cascade project, developed from a five week residency at DMU (National Environmental Research Institute) in Aarhus/Copenhagen, Denmark 2009. Originally an installation for 25 horizontally suspended round screens. Included in ReThink, curated by Anne Sophie Witzke, a satellite exhibition for COP15, the United Nations Climate Change Conference in December 2009.
